PROBIGUA - Spanish Language School in Guatemala
Our Guatemalan tutors come to us from PROBIGUA, one of Guatemala’s best Spanish schools. PROBIGUA also helps impoverished Guatemalan children through its rural library and Internet programs.
The online courses are a unique opportunity for Spanish instructors to earn fair income and operate an empowering mini online business. Speak Shop does not take any of the lesson fees or charge tutors to use our service.
Tutors using PROBIGUA’s teaching facilities pay the school 25% for equipment, expenses and overhead fees and 25% to support PROBIGUA’s library projects for the rural poor.
Online lessons are providing a significant source of new income for the tutors and social projects in Guatemala.
Connect with PROBIGUA tutors to: learn Spanish when it’s convenient for you; learn about Guatemala; continue studying Spanish after traveling abroad.

Aracely

teaching medical vocabulary. Aracely also has a background in social work.
Christian, one of her Speak Shop students, says:

Leonor
has more than 9 years of teaching experience. Leonor also trains
Guatemalan women
on how to use computers, helping them improve their lives.
Edward, one of her Speak Shop students, says:
"I have just returned to Speak Shop after a period of absence due to
scheduling difficulties and computer problems but I believe that the
break has made me appreciate the excellence of the service offered all
the more. Leonor, my tutor, very quickly enabled me to resurrect a lot of
the Spanish which I thought had evaporated in my absence from classes.
I have nothing but praise for her and the very high quality of her teaching."

Yesenia
has taught Spanish for more than 4 years.
Tom, one of her Speak Shop students, says:
"I am a 62-year old student with little talent for foreign languages and get
depressed when I don’t perform well during my lessons. Yesenia encourages me
to hang in there and keep trying. No teacher has ever encouraged me
this way. As long as Yesenia stands behind me and continues to work with me,
I am confident that some day I will master Spanish." |

the highest possible level.
Rafael, on of Milvia's students, says:
"I have been taking classes with Milvia and she is great!!
I am learning so much about the Guatemalan culture and politics.
She is very patient and fun!! We just finished reading a book of Isabel Allende and it

Claritza
has more than 15 years of tutoring experience and is very patient and kind.
Her student, Jane, says:
"Claritza is very, very patient and kind and she likes to laugh,
all of which promotes a relaxed atmosphere for learning.
She always has a lesson prepared but she allows for flexibility
if I have any unrelated language questions, or to have
conversations about Guatemalan culture etc. She has helped
me over that huge hurdle of being afraid
to open my mouth around native speakers. Thanks Claritza!"
Another student, Jack, says:
Claritza is a very special
person and an excellent teacher.
She is very quick to explain certain words that I can´t understand.
I've been to Probigua 3 times and gotten to know her personally as well as
some of her students, all of which have high regards."
