Our Nicaraguan tutors come to us from Ave Nicaraguita, an excellent and socially responsible Spanish school with several locations throughout Nicaragua.
Managed by two sisters with decades of experience overseeing and teaching Spanish immersion programs, Ave Nicaraguita Spanish School is high-quality, dynamic and fun. Ave Nicaraguita also provides in person students with their choice of ways to get involved in shaping social change in Nicaragua, one of Latin America's poorest countries. The school has relationships with several nonprofits and an organic farm.
Through Speak Shop, Ave Nicaraguita now provides online Spanish tutoring. The online courses are a unique opportunity for Spanish instructors to earn fair income and operate an empowering mini online business. Speak Shop does not take any of the lesson fees or charge tutors to use our service.
Tutors using Ave Nicaraguita’s teaching facilities pay the school 25% for equipment, expenses and overhead fees.

is from Granada, Nicaragua. She has completed an intensive two-year program to teach Spanish to foreigners and she has been teaching Spanish since 2005. As a single mother, she aspires to provide a better life for her son. She has completed two years of university and is working to be able to complete her higher education and achieve her dream of becoming a lawyer.

Online Courses: One-on-one instruction
Three Levels Offered: Beginner, Intermediate and High Intermediate (40 hours each)
Hourly Cost for Online Lessons: starting at US$8; out of which 75% goes to the instructor.
Teacher Qualifications: Ave Nicaraguita’s instructors are university graduates or university students with additional training in teaching Spanish as a Second Language. The school principal holds a university degree in education.
Methodology Briefing: Ave Nicaraguita methodology is based on popular education for adults. For the beginner, they focus on the amount of functional language that can be quickly learned via intense interactive sessions. For intermediate level students there is a focus on developing basic writing skills, including grammar, and on increasing vocabulary. Their methodology leads to fast development of conversational and reading skills. Teaching materials are both locally produced and from international Spanish textbooks and certified methodological guides.
